Imagine you are at the bottom on a big spiral staircase. It is formed by five huge steps, leading to a landing you can’t see yet, because behind a ceiling of clouds. On each step, you have to tread several footfalls before reaching the second step.

And after the third step, behind the clouds… You will be able to say you will move up a notch.

In this lesson, we are going to tread these stairs, progressively, side by side. Each chapter will be a new step in this spiral staircase, and each subsection will be a footfall.

And the topics we are going to explore through our footfalls will concern the huge field of infographics: what exactly it is, how to use it, how to lead your research intending to relate a story through visuals and data, how to appeal to your creativity and inventiveness to write your story, and finally, how to make sense of all of this with your data storytelling creation.

Sometimes, during the course, don’t forget to look back and observe the footprints you left on your passing: they are your freshly acquired knowledge.

And maybe, by climbing the stairs, you’ll be able to see further down, the other landings you’ve already reached last time. From then on, you would understand why this course can be detected as a prolongation of the previous course, that concerned the creation of your own website.
