Audiences are salient part of news cycle. However, in media studies exists an old debate which revolves around the question are audiences active participants in the media experience, or just passive consumers. Let’s dive into this debate.
Engaged journalism is a growing movement that is transforming the way newsrooms operate. It is about creating a dialogue with the community and involving them in the news process. Newsrooms that practice engaged journalism are re-learning to listen to their audience and are producing more relevant and impactful journalism as a result. By embracing engaged journalism, newsrooms can build stronger relationships with their audience and help to create a more informed and engaged citizenry.
